His contributions To Denia
It was the Marquis de Campo who introduced trains in Denia. He was personally present for the inauguration at the Denia-Gandia-Carcaixent railway on 30 March 1884. Later, in 1852, he founded the Sociedad de Ferrocarriles del Grau a Xativa - the earliest Valencian railway.
The Royal Valencian Economic Society of Friends of the Country had advised and financed him. He was a partner of the Economic Society as well. The bourgeois class also had quite some involvement in his job too.

Marquis de Campo and his life
Jose Campo Perez was born in 1814 into a prosperous family in Valencia. His father belonged to the family of traders. They dealt with places in America and were Aragonese merchants. Jose Campo was a cunning, smart businessman, publisher, merchant, politician, and shipping agent. He was also a member of the Valencian bourgeoisie.
He always supported the conservative party in politics. De Campo was 29 when he was awarded the title of Mayor of Valencia. In 1874, King Alfonso XII bestowed upon him the noble title of Marquis de Campo. His hostility towards First Republic had achieved the title for him. Moreover, his economic and political contribution to the restoration of monarchy also made him worthy of the title.
Business-wise, he had a fleet of 25 ships. In addition, he had also established such organisations as the Valencian Credit and Development Society, and the Spanish Central Credit Society.
After achieving such great feats, he passed away in 1889 in Madrid.
